FAQs: B&Bs in Edinburgh

How much does it cost to stay at a B&B in Edinburgh?

Staying at a bed and breakfast in Edinburgh will vary depending on the time of year and the location. Generally speaking, you can expect to pay anywhere between £50 to £150 per night. Prices may be higher in peak season or for more luxurious options.

What B&Bs in Edinburgh have nice views?

Edinburgh has lots of beautiful Bed and Breakfasts that have great views! One of the best-known is The Witchery, located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Not only does it offer stunning views of the city center and Castle, but also boasts a number of luxurious amenities.

Other popular spots include The Balmoral Hotel with its picturesque terrace overlooking Princes Street, or the quirky Madelvic House with its hilltop location offering panoramic views over Leith. Whatever your style or budget, you’re sure to find a B&B with an incredible view in Edinburgh.

What is the difference between a bed & breakfast and a hotel in the UK?

Bed & breakfasts in the UK are usually smaller, family-run establishments that offer a more intimate and cozy atmosphere than a hotel. They typically provide en-suite rooms with private bathrooms and often have shared social spaces such as kitchens or sitting rooms. B&Bs also typically serve breakfast to guests either in the room or in a communal dining area.

Hotels, on the other hand, are generally much larger than bed & breakfasts, with many having hundreds of rooms, and they tend to be more luxurious. Hotel amenities may include swimming pools, gyms, spas, and restaurant facilities.

Is it better to stay in Old Town or New Town Edinburgh?

It depends on what you’re looking for. Old Town Edinburgh has the historical charm of being built in the 12th century, with lots of cobbled streets and narrow alleyways to explore, as well as various traditional pubs and eateries.

New Town Edinburgh, on the other hand, is a more modern area with trendy shops and restaurants. Overall, if you’re looking for a mix of old and new, both areas offer a great experience!

What are the best pet-friendly bed and breakfasts in Edinburgh?

Edinburgh is a beautiful city with plenty of pet-friendly accommodations. One great option for pet-friendly bed and breakfasts is the Inchgrove House that I mentioned above, which offers comfortable rooms at an affordable rate. Other options include the Balmoral Hotel, which has several pet-friendly rooms, as well as B&B Edinburgh.

🤩 Don’t forget to check out The Witchery! The place is incredible!
